Backyard Wedding + A Barn Reception – Doesn’t Get Any Better!

Emma and Will were married on July 8th in Norwich, Vermont. The ceremony took place in the picturesque backyard of a family home and was officiated by a long time family friend. The groom’s cousin played guitar and sang during the ceremony – including when Emma and her dad walked down the aisle to Tom Petty’s Wildflowers. Moments after the ceremony ended the skies opened up! And guest scampered to get under umbrellas and on busses to head to The Barn at Happy Hill for the reception. Emma wore a custom Anna Maier gown and her bridesmaids wore 2-pieces ensembles from BHLDN. She carried a lush and textural bouquet by Valley Flower Company.

The Barn at Happy Hill was a fantastic blank canvas. The meticulously restored milking barn was filled with a mix of farm tables and rounds draped with swiss dot linens. Tables were adorned with lush arrangements and locally made beeswax candles. Custom menus and tiny ferns adorned each place setting. It was the perfect mix of bright and fresh yet cozy and traditional yet unexpected.

Dinner was served family style and guest’s enjoyed some summer favorites – capped off trays of swiss (a nod to the bride’s family) and Vermont chocolates served to each table and a pie and ice cream bar!
