A love of the Rocky Mountains and a surprise proposal after a dogsled ride on a family ski trip made the choice of Aspen for their wedding weekend an obvious one. From the bride... My family has been going to Snowmass for most of my life, so it has always held a special place in my heart. Kevin quickly caught the Colorado bug, so when his family joined us for an annual holiday ski trip, it did not come as a shock. Little did I know, Kevin had been planning this trip for months! The week was perfect, full of fresh snow, skiing, snowboarding, and quality family time. Not until my father and stepmom gifted us a "surprise" lunch for Christmas did I start having suspicions that something was up. Despite my hunch, the second we arrived at Krabloonik, I was instantly distracted by the good food, wine, and oh-so-many puppies! I could not have been more shocked when, instead of stopping by the fire with the group, our guide yelled mush, and we continued sledding. We finally came to halt in a secluded area with a small table and bottle of champagne waiting, where the love of my life asked me to marry him. It was such a wonderful moment and easily the most memorable of our lives. From that point on, we knew having our wedding in Snowmass was the perfect choice!
Our wedding weekend was everything we could have imagined and more. The festivities started on Thursday and continued through Sunday, allowing us to spend time with each of our guests who had traveled from all over the world to be with us on our big day. Every one of the various events leading up to the wedding were filled with special memories, but I particularly enjoyed the morning of and the chance to spend some quality time with my girls and family. All went seamlessly, allowing me to relax and reflect on the last few months that led up to this incredible day. Seeing the outcome of all the hard work and effort my mother and I had put into planning and perfecting my vision was more than I could have ever hoped for.
I will never forget walking down the aisle with my dad. My heart melted when I saw my groom, smiling with joy while struggling to hold back tears at the same time. Being surrounded by the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains and all the special people in our lives made our day even more phenomenal than we ever expected. The reception consisted of great food, endless drinks, plenty of dancing (SO MUCH DANCING), and enough joy and laughter to light up the world! It was a day we will never forget.
We will be forever grateful to our parents for their overwhelming support as well as our amazingly talented vendors who made planning and enjoying the wedding as seamless as humanly possible.
