This Editorial in the Forest Defines Effortless Romance

Friends, get ready! This one gives me shivers every time I looks at it! Inspired by the haunting yet soft, draping qualities of Spanish moss, the stunning landscapes of RiverOaks, and a beautiful passage (see below!) from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s Evangeline, East Made Event Company created this “Forest Primeval” editorial for the recent Michael and Carina photography workshop in Charleston. From the effortlessly draped table to the moody autumnal palette, from the twisted updo to the wild quality of the florals, this shoot has all the magic of a woodland fairytale.

This is the forest primeval. The murmuring pines and the hemlocks,

Bearded with moss, and in garments green, indistinct in the twilight,

Stand like Druids of old, with voices sad and prophetic,

Stand like harpers hoar, with beards that rest on their bosoms.

Loud from its rocky caverns, the deep-voiced neighboring ocean

Speaks, and in accents disconsolate answers the wail of the forest.

– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Evangeline, 1847

From Michael and Carina PhotographersInspired by the draping, ghostly quality of Spanish moss, our main shoot draws upon a deep, autumnal color palette to enhance the richness of the forest and the landscape of RiverOaks.
