We love a good style combination, and this bride nailed it at her wedding planned by Amore Events by bringing her classic look to the rustic gorgeousness that is Pippin Hill Farm + Vineyards. A minimal Austin Scarlett gown, timeless ivory blooms by Tourterelle Floral Design, and Ashley Cox‘s photography were the perfect combination! So if you need us today, we’ll be right here soaking up this lovely gallery.
Rachel and Joe are high school sweethearts who started dating freshman year and have been together ever since! They both went to UVA in Charlottesville, VA, and currently reside in New York City. They chose Charlottesville and Pippin Hill as their wedding venue, as they adore the city and wanted their family and friend to experience the beauty of Virginia in the summertime.
From the Bride… When we began planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to have a weekend focused on bringing family and friends together. Since we love Charlottesville, both attended UVA, and frequently take weekend trips down to visit, we thought it would be the perfect town for a short destination wedding weekend, giving us lots of time to spend with everyone.
Since all our guests would be traveling, we wanted a venue that would really highlight the beauty of the area. Between that, the delicious food and wine, and its accommodating and picturesque venue spaces and bridal/groom suites, we felt that Pippin Hill would be the ideal place and it provided a wonderful backdrop for a weekend full of celebrations!
I love neutral tones and black and white, so the bridesmaids wore champagne and the groomsmen were in classic black tuxes. When selecting my dress, I was looking for some architectural detail and minimal embellishments.
Joe was focused on music for the entire day, including the Linden Trio for the ceremony and the Silver Bullets out of Richmond, who played an acoustic set during cocktail hour and at the reception.
Two of my favorite details of the room were the cake, which had tiers of flowers between each layer, and the hanging floral installation of dendrobium orchids and Italian ruskus. I had discovered this combination at a storefront a few months prior to the wedding and loved how the linear florals added a romantic but still structured look to the hanging installation. We wanted the room to be lit entirely by candlelight during the reception, so other than the lights from the band, votives of different heights provided all the lighting for the evening. The day of was made all the more magical because of the 70-degree humidity-free day in the middle of August – we felt so lucky!
