How to Infuse Elegance Into a Bold, Bright Color Palette

Usually when we think of colorful, it goes hand in hand with whimsical or modern affairs but this inspiration is showcasing a different side to bold, bright hues. Backed by a dream team of vendors including design by Brooke Keegan, florals by Oak & The Owl and romantic gowns with a bit of an edge by Rime Arodaky, this shoot is showing just how elegant and classic a little pop of color can be. As a photographer, I am madly in love with the Santa Ynez Valley, in Southern California. This is the background we chose for this wedding editorial with a dream team composed of Brooke Keegan (planning), Oak&The Owl (floral design) and Rime Arodaky (dresses). We shot at Kestrel Park, which is an amazing private estate, which just opened a couple years ago. There are so many options and photographic possibilities in this dreamy venue. We wanted a pop of color in this editorial, and the amazing florals from Nancy (Oak&The Owl) always are such a treat for the eye. Britt’s natural beauty (our model) was enhanced by the great hair&makeup by Heidi (Hair&Makeup Girl) and the edgy though elegant dresses by Rime Arodaky. We started with a portrait session, followed by a ceremony, before ending the day with an amazing sunset in the wild flowers surrounding the property. I truly heart this editorial photoshoot as we wanted to be intentional on many different aspects: popping colors vs. The pastel look that tends to be overseen in the wedding landscapes, sexy though elegant dresses and bride bringing a very modern touch. I think everything just matched perfectly and fitted in this amazing background that is the Santa Ynez Valley.
