On their seven-year anniversary, after three years together in San Francisco, three years of long distance from San Francisco to New York and London, and one year back together in San Diego, John proposed to Holly on top of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Nestled next to Central Park, the museum was their favorite spot in the city to escape the heat of the summer and snow in the winter when John made his monthly trips out to visit Holly in the city. On this occasion, he took her up to the museum’s rooftop; she thought he was going to take a picture of her with the city skyline in the background when he got on one knee and asked her to marry him!
