How do you incorporate Indian, Persian, and American cultures into one wedding? You have more than one night of celebrations, that’s how! From the first night, with Persian cuisine and Indian music at a very cool venue (just you wait, the clip below has it all!), to the second night with a ceremony and reception bursting with colors and endless dancing… it was a wedding weekend not soon forgotten by any guest… or anyone lucky enough to view this gorgeous film from Reel Eyes Media! From the Bride… Given our multicultural families, we wanted to incorporate elements of Indian, Persian, and American cultures into our wedding in a way that felt authentic to us. Our wedding planners at Shannon Leahy Events did an incredible job executing our vision of a colorful, vibrant, and welcoming event. We did the first night – which in Indian culture is traditionally known as the Sangeet – at the California Academy of Sciences where we served Persian inspired food and danced the night away to Persian and Indian music. The second night – the ceremony and reception – was held at the NWBLK, an old sign factory in the Mission district of San Francisco. Indian patterns and bright neon colors contrasted the grey and black interior and exterior of the building. Indian street food was cooked and served outside stations style. Dancing went until 2am with the addition of a taco truck and churro stand rolling up around midnight. Needless to say the food, dancing, and energy were the priorities at the wedding and we were thrilled with how everything turned out!
