A Couple That Dances Together Stays Together

From Erin McLean Events… The Italian and Southern traditions may not have a lot in common but one thing is warm hospitality and a knack for romance. Elise, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina met Marco, a native of Milan, Italy met tango dancing. Yes,tango dancing, the most romantic dance in the world. Their relationship grew over the love for global adventure, family, and fantastic cuisine. When Marco asked Elise to be his wife, it was quickly decided that they would marry their heritages with the things they loved wrapped into a beautiful evening of celebration. They chose to celebrate their wedding day at Elise’s childhood home in the heart of Raleigh’s historic district, which had been in the family dating back over 65 years, in fact 2017 marked the home’s 100th anniversary, a date not lost on their family.

With this beautiful, quintessential home as the backdrop surrounded by friends and family from all over the world the 2 cultures came together in their appreciation for family, love, and amazing good. Dinner was served under a billowing white tent family style, with the hum of laughter and love floating through the April evening. The party, which was in the midst of Elise’s mother’s meticulously manicured garden, was designed to seamlessly flow with its surrounding. The tent was filled with greenery draped chandeliers and blooms dripping with colors of spring. The poppy was the catalyst for the bright color infusion, which can be found covering the fields of Marco’s home country but can also be found in a painting in the living room of the home Elise and her father before her grew up in.

Elise and Marco surprised their guests with a fantastic tango dance under the stars, complete with a custom made “bridal inspired” tango dress Elise donned. They even had a custom logo created inspired by photo of the two of them dancing tango. The evening was the perfect marriage of not only a much in love couple but also their two world intertwining much like one of their favorite tango moves.
