A Cozy, Elegant Affair with a Side of Surprise Snow
Warm and cozy, elegant and oh so romantic. This Colorado wedding hits all the right notes at all the right times. But with the unpredictable weather, how did everything go so smoothly? From A Vintage Affair Events & Rentals... Brooke and JC's beautiful ranch wedding was definitely a day to remember! The couple journeyed from their home state of Texas to the mountains of Colorado. Their wedding was held at the beautiful Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Tabernash. Brooke and JC had a unique and special ceremony set up where the chairs were set in a circular shape and the couple stood in the middle of it surrounded by their loved ones. As is typical in Colorado, the weather was unpredictable all day. It rained, sleeted, snowed and produced graupel on and off all day. But, miraculously we had a small window around ceremony time and were able to get the ceremony done before the next storm rolled through. The mountains provided a magical backdrop with the clouds from the intermittent storms flowing down to the valley. Brooke and JC made the most out of the weather and even opted to do some photos in the snow that started falling right after the ceremony.
The reception space looked like something out of a dream. The tables were a mix of long wooden farm tables and rounds with ivory linen to give the space a more natural feel that complemented the wood of the barn. A long ivory cheesecloth runner ran the length of the wood head table with modern gold chandeliers hanging above adorned with greenery. The couple sat at the end of the table on a linen love seat. The tables were decorated with lovely floral arrangements from Sweet Pea Florals, gold and glass chargers and stemware and what seemed like countless taper candles to add to the warm and romantic feeling of the night. To soften the space Elite DJ also added light, airy drapery to the beams. Everyone was blown away when they walked into the space.
Brooke, JC, their friends and family danced the night away in the adjacent window filled room where Elite DJ also set up a fun photo booth with a gold sequence backdrop that brought spunk and silliness to the party, while an oxygen bar by Summit Oxygen led life back onto the dance floor. Tamara Gruner captured this fairy tale day beautifully.
