Bridal Bootcamp Week 2 - Let's Do This!

Happy Monday to all you super-fit babes out there! How did the first week of bootcamp go? Share your experiences in the comments below or on Instagram using #SMPBootcamp -- Peter and I would love to hear from you!

Need to start at Week 1? -- Find it here.
We're focusing on legs and back this week and this workout is my absolute favorite. My back is going to be on full display at my wedding in October (my fiancé already knows way too much about my dress so who cares if I write about it at this point -- is that bad luck?) so I’ve been doubling up these exercises to make sure I look extra lean in that area.
The other reason I love this week’s circuits is because of the leg focus, which gives me an excuse to foam roll. If you guys haven’t tried this, I cannot recommend it enough. First and foremost, taking a few minutes to roll on the days where you worked your legs harder than usual is amazing for minimizing soreness -- and this will make it easier for you to get back in the gym again right away and will lower the risk of injuring yourself!

Secondly, it feels great. With all the wedding expenses right now, that last thing I’ve been able to do is splurge on a massage, so foam rolling is the next best thing. I do it before I go to bed and find that it totally relaxes me. And there’s apparently something to that -- a 2014 study found that practices like foam rolling have the potential to lower the stress hormone cortisol! We brides could all use a little less of that, am I right?!

Spend some time this week rolling out your hamstrings and quads -- I promise, you won’t regret it!

From a nutrition standpoint, we’re keeping things pretty basic this week, although I do have a fun new breakfast recipe for you! This recipe is great because it makes enough for the whole week, so no need to cook every morning, simply reheat! Check out this week’s sample meal plan below.

Keep up the amazing work, and I’ll see you next week!

XO,

Molly
