This Bride is making me want to try on allll the wedding dresses again. I mean, can you even with this Pronovias number? It was the perfect match for a wow backdrop like this. Ether & Smith joined in for all the fun from behind the lens, leaving us with a collection of images so lovely, you’ll keep coming back for more.
From the bride… Nick and I met last summer at the gym when a mutual friend introduced us. There was instant chemistry and he asked me on a date one week later – we both just knew that this was it. We talked and hung out every day after that and I can truly say that I knew within the first two weeks after our first date that he was the one. I never believed in love at first sight until it happened to me. We made things official and saw each other every single day after that and then in February he proposed to me backstage at a meet and greet in front of Celine Dion – the proposal photos went viral and even ended up on E! News which we were definitely not expecting! It was such an incredible moment! Nick is the most kind, loving and respectful man I know and I am so thankful to be his wife.
My vision for our wedding was intimate, etherial and enjoyable. I envisioned very light, simple and natural aspects of our big day when it came to the venues, bridesmaids dresses and small details. We also both wanted our destination wedding weekend to be focused on enjoying our family. I really wanted to enjoy our day and not be stressed with every little detail of cake cutting, flower girls, getting people to dance or even picking out decorations so I kept it simple. We only invited immediate family members, had our ceremony outdoors where the only decorations needed were a few flowers, our reception was a simple dinner by the ocean served family style – no cake cutting or dancing and we actually got to go around and talk to each guest since we only had 54 people there. I know that having a small wedding is not for everyone but, for us, it was just a blessing getting to have both sides our family together in one place!
One highlight was definitely our personalized vows that we read to each other – I will cherish those words forever. The emotion that our ceremony evoked from our family members was really special to use because we got to feel so much love and support and that was another big highlight for me. Also, just the the sheer natural beauty and peacefulness of our two outdoor venues was so dreamy and far beyond anything I could have imagined for our wedding.
My advice is do your research but don’t over-research – when you end up finding something you love, go for it and then move on to the next thing. Going back and forth all the time during the planning process is a big part of what makes it stressful. Also, my advice would be to hire vendors that are easily to work with from the beginning. If you don’t hire a wedding planner from the start, definitely hire a “day of” planner that you work well with because there is no way to have a more stress free wedding without one! My photographer, videographer, event planner and florist were all SO sweet and easygoing on the day of our wedding and, after looking at their previous work, I trusted that that were very good at what they did so that took a lot of stress off of me. Lastly, RELAX and soak up every second of this beautiful day because some little details are bound to go wrong but, in the end, you will still be married to the man of your dreams and that is the most important thing.
