A Destination Wedding With a Backyard Vibe

Sarah Rose wanted an intimate destination wedding since she and her soon-to-be husband both worked for the family catering business, so when she stepped onto the grounds of the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn in Los Olivos, she knew she had found her location. From the Bride... With my husband being born into the Jay’s Catering family, his life has forever revolved around the hospitality industry. With both of us working for Jay’s, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our marriage than by having a small, quaint destination wedding with our immediate family only. After a day of venue searching and visiting almost every winery in the Santa Barbara area, my mom and I stumbled upon the Fess Parker Inn, Los Olivos. Hungry, tired, and slightly discouraged from not finding my perfect venue, I walked through the lobby of the hotel, saw a simple green garden, and immediately imagined our perfect “backyard” wedding.

My wedding inspiration came after booking our honeymoon to Greece. I felt a Mediterranean garden theme would fit perfectly in the space. I incorporated Mediterranean blues with some pops of lavender. I used local vendors for my wedding such as the lavender and olive oil party favors from Global Gardens down the road from the venue. Our food was also Greek – Petros catered our delicious dinner.

My favorite memory of our wedding was surprising my husband with a cigar/whiskey lounge at the end the night. I am so happy to have found this venue and cannot wait to go back for more celebrations!
