From Molly McKinley... While searching for the perfect intimate wedding location near Rome, we found Hotel La Badia in Orvieto. Orvieto is a charming Italian hill town, and La Badia sits far enough outside of its walls to admire them. Life is calm and slow at La Badia. It’s one of the most magical little spots to experience Italy’s countryside. When deciding on design elements, we chose to let the Hotel’s unique grounds speak for themselves. In the 12th century, they began restoring the grounds of this 6th century Abbey. Beautiful frescoes adorn the walls, and the onsite chapel is peaceful and otherworldly. Each detail was curated to be a simple extension of the beauty already there.
