Holding the Rain at Bay for a Floral-Filled Affair in the Low Country
With rain in the forecast, this Charleston wedding braced itself for a raindrop filled celebration but alas, the weather held off and the planning by Cibi Events + florals by Branch Design Studio shined bright in this gorgeous Lowndes Grove celebration. From the Photographer... I'm not going to lie. The forecast leading up to Alex + Mike's wedding day had me slightly anxious about their wedding day. During the entire week leading up to their big day, they were calling for rain - and I was preparing myself for a wet wedding day. To our surprise, the rain held off for most of Alex + Mike's wedding day and my good luck streak for weather continues on! We started their day with a sweet First Look in downtown Charleston, followed by portraits in the French Quarter district of town. Then, we headed to Lowndes Grove for more photos of the two of them before their bridal party + family joined in for group photos. Rain quickly moved through the area before the ceremony, but it cleared up just in time for their waterfront ceremony overlooking the Ashley River. As thunder rumbled in the distance, Alex + Mike said "I do!" in front of their closest family + friends... It was a ceremony that I'm sure everyone will remember! Their reception space was absolutely beautiful thanks to the ladies of CiBi Events and Branch Design Studio. Guests enjoyed various stations of Lowcountry favorites while Trotline Band kept the dance floor packed all night. At the end of the evening, Alex + Mike exited through a tunnel of sparklers and hopped into their getaway car. It was an amazing day, for sure.
