Brandy Maddison Event Planning and DesignOn the dock of the UBC Boathouse in Richmond, British Columbia, Kyle and Rozalind said “I do” in a beautiful, fall ceremony, as the most gentle breeze came off the ocean. It made for a stunning backdrop, and as the bride’s veil blew perfectly in the wind, the whole world seemed to stop and stare. Rozalind looked breathtaking as she came down the aisle. Her dark hair tucked into a simple updo was a beautiful contrast to her classic, strapless dress; a vision in white. Rozalind had a vision for her flowers and wanted a big bouquet of subtle ivory and greens with light touches of navy blue to accent Kyle’s suit. Their vows were personal and their guests were overcome with an overwhelming sense of love and a little laughter, too.

For the reception, Rozalind changed her hair to a ballerina bun and traded in her veil for a timeless hair clip.

Inside, the reception hall was transformed with hundreds of lights strung in the rafters, gray linens on the tables, slate centerpieces with clusters of white candles, and an abundance of greenery. It was subdued and romantic, setting the mood for an intimate evening. After dinner and speeches, under the lights and surrounded by candles circling the dance floor, the couple shared a special moment before the night kicked off. Jesse from Common Sound in Kamloops came down to play the music for the wedding, and the couple had the dance floor packed until the wee hours of the morning. The bride’s glittering Jimmy Choo stilettos were the only thing left behind – a testament to the most amazing and fun night of their lives!
