Get Inspired to Throw a Wedding Built for Two

Cue the enamor because this inspiration is the epitome of San Francisco beauty. With the stateliness of City Hall as the backdrop and elegant details starting with those invitations by Spurle Gul Studios and continuing to the wild, organic blooms by The Bloomery Co., this Elopement shoot captured by Esmeralda Franco will give you all the reason you need to plan a wedding built for two.

I believe that an elopement can be just as elegant and classic as a traditional wedding. And when combined with the innate intimacy derived from an elopement, I think there’s something really special about getting dolled up with the one you love and devoting yourself to one another. While many people think of mountaintops or beaches when they hear the word “elopement,” I believe you can have a special and romantic elopement in your own city, filled with beautiful wedding details.

As inspiration for this shoot, I wanted to show brides that even a local elopement can be done up to the nines and end up so gorgeous! I chose to play off of the idea of a black tie affair and brought in lush, overgrown garden bouquet from the Aubriana (Bloomery Co) in muted, neutral tones. Combined with the classic invitations featuring elegant and dreamlike calligraphy, and the incredible BHLDN dress, the bride reflected ethereal beauty and sophistication. The groom was done up perfectly in a sharp black tux getup—velvet bowtie and all!

Some of my favorite details of the shoot include the handwritten vows in the most beautiful script (because it’s all about the vows in an elopement, right?!), the detailing and straps on the back of the gown, and the stunning Susie Saltzman ring. I love the idea of the bride and groom being able to save the pretty copy of their vows and remember their small, yet grand, affair forever!
