Rustic, Romantic Wedding for these High School Sweethearts

Some things are meant to be and the story of these high school sweethearts is a perfect example. When it looked like rain was coming, the sun came out and shined down on their big day so they danced and laughed and loved all night long and Moonstone Pictures got it all on film. And don’t miss the true little love bird that followed along on all the day’s moments… doesn’t get cuter than that!

From the Bride… Just about a decade after meeting Mekki, I walked down a rose petal-laden aisle to an acoustic guitar to become his wife in an incredibly beautiful, special, and loving ceremony in our new home town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Flanked by our closest friends and family, with the beautiful Teton Mountains engulfed in fog in the background, the rain paused, clouds parted, and the sun shone as I walked arm-in-arm with my beloved father to meet my soon-to-be husband and we said our vows. It was the only time the sun came out that day! I had a Cindarella moment as a precious little bird followed me down the aisle and stayed with us the length of the ceremony, and even hopped over to be part of our pictures! During our reception we sipped spicy blood orange margaritas, dined on delicious short ribs, listened to the most thoughtful speeches, and danced the night away to the most incredible wedding band I have ever heard. I don’t think there was one person sitting down once the party got started, and I most certainly ruined my hair and makeup! From the miraculous change in weather, to the overwhelming love expressed and felt by everybody present, our day was nothing short of magical and the most fun, special way for us to begin our new chapter together as husband and wife.

From Moonstone PicturesJane and Mekki had been high school sweethearts, so there was an added specialness to the day as most of the guests had watched both of them grow up together. We were all prepared for rain and an indoor ceremony, but as often happens, the skies opened up just as guests arrived. With umbrellas ready, everyone stood for the ceremony, with the sun only beaming brighter, in the face of the Tetons at the beautiful Lost Creek Ranch.

Oh, and that bird!! You’ll see him in a couple of shots, but he actually was somehow part of the entire event, unexplainably connected to Jane and Mekki. He arrived just before start time, traveled up and down the aisle for the full ceremony, stayed close for pictures and even ventured into the tent for toasts and dancing. A true love bird!
