A Wildly Beautiful Garden Wedding in the Middle of the City

Black tie affairs are a staple in New York City but pulling off a crazy elegant garden wedding in the middle of that bustling metropolis is another story entirely. Oh does Brooklyn Botanical Garden fit the bill. And all gussied up with elegant details from Oleander Floral & Events, it’s nothing short of perfection, despite the pouring rain. From Lauren Fair Photography… Mary Catherine + Chris’s elegant summer New York wedding was perfection – such a stunning, clean color palette, incredibly in-love bride + groom and portraits in one of my favorite locations at Brooklyn Botanical Gardens – the desert greenhouse. Even though it poured rain, they were all smiles and kept the focus on all the joy surrounding them with the ones they love!

From the Bride… What was most important to Chris and I, was that everyone we loved could be there – Given that our entire extended families are local, we made it a black-tie New York City affair, and split the day between our two native boroughs, Manhattan and Brooklyn. First Presbyterian is one of the most beautiful churches in Manhattan, and was where my parents got married three decades before us. Brooklyn Botanic’s Palm House is the most incredible ballroom I’ve ever been in, and it served as the perfect backdrop for the clean, elegant, and whimsical atmosphere that Oleander Florals brought to life that day. What we will always remember about that night was dancing, jumping, singing and sweating, immersed in a sea of people that we couldn’t live without.
