This Modern Bride Wore the Dreamiest Open Back Gown
This beautiful bride is about to become a style icon because her gown is DIVINE! And the dress? Well that's just the start. A day captured by Connie Whitlock and effortlessly designed by A Vintage Affair Events & Rentals, we've got every darling and dreaming detail waiting in The Vault
From A Vintage Affair Events & Rentals... Erin was such a joy to work with throughout the planning of her wedding. She is kind, intelligent, cares about the small details and how everything will come together aesthetically - while still remembering what the big picture is about: her love and marriage to Matthew and the joy of the celebration. From the very beginning, we (the ladies at A Vintage Affair) joked that Erin was too cool for us, from the fact she designs her own jewelry - look at that hand bracelet! - to her unique and eclectic style. Her wedding was one that embraced a mixture of romance with a touch of modernity, while being more on the minimalist and organic side. When you combine her style with the amazing work of Connie Whitlock and Ali Fortunato, you get nothing short of amazing.
Erin first bought a beautiful, more traditional lace gown. While it was a gorgeous dress, something just didn’t feel right to her. When she emailed me a picture of the new dress she was considering, my jaw dropped! We both knew it was the one! It was a stunning Houghton NYC gown that was both modern and chic; yet timeless at the same time. The dress helped to set the tone of the day to come.
The wedding was set at the beautiful Crooked Willow Farms in Larkspur, Colorado with wide open spaces and spanning views of the foothills. For the outdoor ceremony arbor, Erin wanted it to look organic with a wild branchy feel to it, but still made sure that her favorite flower, the clematis, was incorporated for visual interest.
For the reception tables, Erin chose to go with something more modern but still clean and elegant. We wanted the reception flowers to stand out, so we decided on a grey linen for all the round tables and included a pop of color in the middle of the room with a blue linen to bring in the blue from the color palette.
To go along with the bride’s love of variety, we chose vintage glassware from Yonder House; clear for the rounds and pink for the blue table. The gold flatware added to the modern feel of the wedding and to highlight the sweetheart table, we chose two beautiful white vintage embellished chargers. While the table decor provided a mix of a vintage and a modern ambiance, they came together to create a harmonious vision in a beautiful space.
