Floral Hair Combs Are the New Bridesmaid Must Have

The florals in this upstate NY wedding have grabbed ahold of my attention and not let go. But it’s not the bouquets – though the bridal bouquet is OMG worthy – but the unique and oh so pretty floral hair combs that all of the bridesmaids wore instead of carrying bouquets. Genius, right? Elena Wolfe – with assistance by Colleen Macmillan – captured every look and more. Head to our Vault for it all!

From Elena WolfeCali and Phil had a beautiful and lush summer wedding full of blush, ivory, and greens. The ceremony overlooked the Hudson River and guests were seated next to rows of white lanterns and blush rose blooms. The bridesmaids had custom flower hair pieces to complement their blush gowns and the groomsmen looked handsome in charcoal suits. Everyone danced into the night with a fun live band finishing with a cake adorned by fresh flower buds and draping ivy.

From Earthy Elegance FloralsOur inspiration was drawn from the elegant location with rustic hints. We wanted the flower decor to feel different and unique while maintaining a tasteful appearance. The bridal bouquet was made up of blush pink and white peonies, garden roses, white sea holly, eucalyptus and ivy cascading down the side. Instead of having my bridesmaids hold bouquets, I decided to do something different and have them all wear floral hair combs made up of blush pink and white garden roses, white sea holly, spray roses and eucalyptus leaves.

We pulled a lot of the inspiration from the location including the gardens. We wanted the ceremony and cocktail hour space to have a romantic feel with lanterns decorated with eucalyptus and spray roses. We filled the reception space with candles, and half of our barn-style harvest tables were decorated with rectangular wood boxes filled with cylinder white candles and an arrangement of flowers made up of blush pink and white garden roses, stock, hydrangeas, spray roses, wax, eucalyptus and green ivy hung off the sides of the box. The other half of our tables were decorated with eucalyptus, spray roses and green ivy floral runners and candles down the center of the harvest tables.
