From The Bride...When Alon popped the question in a carefully planned surprise New York City proposal it felt like a fairytale. Miranda knew their wedding would have a lot to compete with! When it came time to plan their wedding, there was no question that it would be black tie and a nod to another era. Keeping with their proposal anniversary, the two wed one year to the day on May 22 2016 on an overcast Sunday. The venue they chose was the perfect nod to their nostalgic theme, the classic Fairmont Hotel Vancouver in the heart of their home city, Vancouver, British Columbia. Before the ceremony, the couple chose a nearby rooftop with a contrasting industrial backdrop of their city for their first look. The groom wearing a J.Crew smoking jacket and everything else by Suit Supply. The bride in a lace Maggie Sottero gown she customized by adding long sleeves to and covering a sheer bodice, Jimmy Choo shoes, and pearl earrings. Inside their suite, the Lieutenant Governors’ suite on the top floor of the Hotel Vancouver, the bridal party took portraits and toasted champagne before the ceremony. Miranda’s neutral bouquet was a mix of mostly roses, and peonies with lush cascading greenery tied in a hand-dyed silk blush ribbon. Four Bridesmaids wore Asos lace floor length gowns in navy and carried Juliet roses in their natural bouquets.

Guests assembled in the understated ceremony room decorated with natural blooms and chiavari chairs while a violin and guitar duo played the couples favourite songs, a mix of Drake, Frank Ocean, Elvis and Michael Jackson.

A violin and guitar duo played Frank Ocean’s “Thinking about you” for the Brides’ grand entrance with her dad and step-dad escorting her down the aisle.

The ceremony was short and sweet, and non-denominational, integrating Jewish tradition with the breaking of the glass.

The couple had their first dance as man and wife to Leon Bridges, ‘Coming home’ and through the night, guests sipped on their signature cocktails, hers a lavender lemonade and his an old fashioned.

Guests were given the couples favourite candy from Sugarfina, Champagne Gummy Bears, as favours.

All white centerpieces of peonies, hydrangeas and lush greenery garlands decorated tables along with gold and navy agate accents.

The couple made their getaway with a sparkler sendoff at the end of the evening and will set off for their honeymoon for a month-long Italian getaway in July 2016.
