This Sailboat E-Sesh is the Definition of Glamorous

From the Bride... They say everything happens for a reason…especially when you least expect it and that is exactly what happened when Kyle and I first met. We unexpectedly met at the gym we both attended in June 2010. The first date Kyle took me on was the best date of my life and that night I fell in love with the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with!
Our proposal... It was New Years Eve, Dec. 31, 2014. We decided to have a relaxed NYE and just stay in, cook a delicious dinner and then go for a walk along my favourite trail where Kyle decided to pop the question! He took me by complete surprise...took out the most beautiful ring and my best friend asked me to be his wife. It was the best night of my life (so far)! NYE will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We are getting married next July at The Lake House in Pickering, ON. Our theme is “Nautical Glam.” We love being out on the water, so the venue just spoke to us as soon as we went and saw it! The advice I would give all newly engaged couples would be to start the planning process early! Give yourself ample time to book all the vendors you want (like an amazing photographer!), therefore you won’t get stressed and you will actually enjoy the planning process! Be realistic… know what you can afford and spend more of your budget on things you really care about. Finally, do some things yourself if you have the time… it adds such a special touch to your big day while saving some money! Most importantly, don’t forget to love each other and cherish every moment together and always remember why you are getting married in the first place!
We wanted our engagement photos to set the tone for our Nautical Glam wedding day! Bruna from Simply Lace Photography knew exactly what we wanted and we decided to do our photos on Kyle’s dad’s sailboat. Of course, the day of our engagement shoot, the winds were howling from the North and there was not a cloud in the sky… not the ideal conditions you want for engagement photos on a sailboat! However, Bruna handled everything like a pro despite never being on sailboat before! We are so lucky to have her as our photographer… our engagement photos exceeded every single one of our high expectations! We cannot wait for our big day and have Simply Lace Photography document our love story!!!!
