While it’s no surprise that the City of Light is for lovers, what about the “Paris of South America” aka Buenos Aires? Well, if these pics by Sophie Epton are any indication, this Argentine city is ripe for romance. Sophie captured a gorgeous Bride-to-be and all the beauty surrounding her and lucky for us, we get to take a virtual trip with this uber pretty Vault gallery – bon voyage!
From Sophie Epton Photography… Traveling to Argentina is always at the top of my list, but traveling to this incredible country for a dear friend’s wedding and getting to shoot her bridal… well, that’s just the icing on the cake! Three years ago when I eloped with my husband Jordan in Buenos Aires, we met the most incredible girl, Clari Firmat, who we hired for hair and makeup. Little did we know that during the next year, over many e-mails, we would become dear friends as well. She became our officiant, drove us around the city for incredible portrait shots, and even took us out for a seafood dinner at her family’s local yacht club. Although we only spent about four days with her, we felt like we had known her our whole lives. When she told us she was engaged and getting married, it took about three seconds for Jordan and I to say “We’re in!” We flew back down to the “Paris of South America” where it all began, and embarked on a joyous weekend filled with amazing friends, laughter and unforgettable experiences.
Clari’s bridal is something I will cherish forever. We photographed her at the beautiful and quaint Hotel de Casco in San Isidro, just a little outside of Buenos Aires. The greenery, architecture and Clari’s stunning looks were a dream to photograph; literally around each corner and turn, there was new inspiration for me to utilize as a background. Clari wore the most amazing hand-designed wedding dress made just for her by Luli Greig… I loved the blush shell color and intricate beading that draped so elegantly over her body. She also wore an heirloom ring made with sapphires from her own great-great-grandmother’s brooch, and a shimmering crystal hair piece she made herself with her company Tepeino Puntocom. Jessica Crowell designed the most beautiful suite that reflected the old-world, whimsical feel of the venue – I just adore the hand-painted palm fronds and leaves on the envelope liner! The day ended with a walk amongst the large Jacaranda trees as the sun set over this beautiful bride, a moment I will never forget…
