The Perfect Something Old? This Bride's Veil Made from Her Grandmother's Wedding Dress

The purpose of "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue" is to walk down the aisle with treasures from the people who mean the most to you (that, and good luck). This beautiful Bride accomplished exactly that, wearing her grandmother's veil as she walked down the aisle to her future husband.  And this special day only gets better from there thanks to Scott Corridan Design. From East River PR...Austin, Texas based Scott Courtney wed Jenna Dailey in a gorgeous destination wedding in the California wine country that reflected an interesting mix of elegance combined with an outdoorsy style.

The couple desired an outdoor location that was naturally beautiful but which could also be exceptionally elegant. As soon as they saw Chalk Hill Estate, they knew they had found their venue. Beautiful white flowers and greenery complimented gold accents. The ceremony took place outside, overlooking the lush vineyard and California’s foothills. Dinner was held on the terrace of the pavilion at Chalk Hill and the celebration later moved inside for dancing.

Especially inspired was the unique way in which the couple decided to share dinner service. With black ties on, they called on the traditions of “Hill Country BBQ”, and while they didn’t serve barbecue, dinner was served from a single raised chef’s table with six chefs in attendance mixing up and putting the final “fixins” on every aspect of the bride and groom’s favorite foods. Guests came and went, meandered, stopped and chatted…as they filled their plates, and their tummies…in a way that can best be described as “down home.”

Jenna and Scott’s love story is one of modern romance. They met in college and became friends who stayed in touch for years until Scott’s last year of law school when they started dating and commuting back and forth between Dallas and Austin to see each other. Scott proposed on Christmas Eve overlooking Lake Austin, under the pretense of going to decorate a Christmas tree on Hwy 360, an Austin tradition. After decorating their first tree together, they spent the rest of the evening celebrating Christmas Eve and their engagement with family.

Jenna wore a Rebecca Schoneveld dress by Schone Bride in Brooklyn along with Christian Louboutin shoes. Her veil was made from her grandmother’s wedding dress. We have details on every aspect of the wedding that we'd be happy to share if you are interested. Also, below is a selection of images to preview. The pictures really tell the story of this stand-out celebration.
