From the Bride... When our ten year anniversary came around, my husband Ryan and I decided that renewing our vows was a the best way to commemorate the past decade of our lives together. We wanted it to be just us and our two daughters, an intimate and memorable moment for our small family. Our friend, Brandon, is an amazing photographer, and we couldn't imagine having anyone else capture the moment, so we traveled from our home in Atlanta to Nashville, where Brandon lives, for the event. We both adore the countryside on the outskirts of town, and so Brandon chose a gorgeous farm and field for our renewal. We were grateful for perfect weather and children who stayed mostly put together as they ran around gathering dandelions while Ryan and I had our small ceremony of sorts. We chose to cold-read our original vows to one another, and it was beautiful and emotional to hear those same words so many years later. Their meaning and promises meant that much more a decade further into our relationship. It was the perfect way for us to revisit and remember the people we were way back then, and when halfway through our reading my oldest daughter brought me a flower and asked that I hold her so that she could hear her daddy's words to me, it was the perfect picture of who we are today. The evening was exactly what we wanted it to be, the perfect picture of life then and now, a small celebration that we'll always remember fondly.
