From The Bride...Our wedding theme was Southern, natural, and a lot of cotton. Most ideas came from Pinterest.
Jacob and I both work at Walton EMC. I noticed him several years earlier but we never spoke. Jacob sent me a friend request through FB. We began talking as friends. We had the same beliefs in Christ, how children should be raised, and life in general. After a few months, he asked me on a date. I was excited and said absolutely! Our first date was at Longhorn’s Steakhouse in Athens, GA. We didn’t speak much. I think the shift from friend to date made us both a little nervous. After that I could tell we were both excited about each other. We continued to go on dates every week and decided we would not date anyone else.
On May 3rd 2015, Jacob asked me were I’d like to eat for my birthday. Since we normally eat dinner with friends for our birthdays, I wasn’t suspicious AT ALL! I picked Shokitini’s in Athens, GA. The sushi is amazing!!!! We had a group of about 10 people. They all knew that Jacob may ask me to marry him. Looking back now I can see how overly happy everyone was but at the time I thought nothing of it. During our dinner I got up to use the ladies room. When I got back Jacob had left the table and everyone was rearranged so that I was on the outside instead of the inside of the table. As Jacob walked back toward the table, he quickly got on his knees and back up before I realized he said “Will you marry me”!!!! When I looked down I saw a beautiful diamond and realized what he asked me! I started crying and said YES!
