If you needed another reason to visit Morocco, this wedding is it. Complete with stunning Marrakech architecture, this celebration is decadently dreamy and thanks to Catherine Mead we’ve got Tommaso and Federica’s day to share. An intimate celebration with 60 of their nearest and dearest (and an unexpected guest!), this is one gallery that you won’t want to miss. See it all in The Vault!
From Catherine Mead…Tommaso and Federica met seven years ago at her future bridesmaid’s birthday party in Milan. The Italian couple, who live in Dubai, travelled on their first weekend getaway together to Marrakech and quickly fell in love with the city.
After six years together, Tommaso proposed to Federica on her 30th birthday at a Moroccan restaurant in London, in honour of their very first weekend away together to Marrakech. When it came to planning their destination wedding, there was only one city for them!
Federica and Tommaso were joined by 60 of their closest family and friends in Marrakech. They welcomed guests with cocktails around the pool at Riad El Fenn, before getting married the following day, Valentine’s Day, at the Church of Marrakech. Tommaso’s favourite moment from the wedding was watching Federica walk down the aisle with his nephew to the sound of a gospel choir singing Ave Maria.
After the ceremony, guests were greeted at decadent La Mamounia hotel with canapés and rosé champagne. Within the Morrocan tent, inspired by French romance, Marie Antoinette and Moroccan tones, they created an intimate ambience with warm red, orange and pink tones, infused with candlelight.
As a fashion PR, Federica knew the perfect gown for her, pairing a French lace gown by Luisa Beccaria with vibrant yellow Manolos for the wedding, followed by an Alice & Olivia evening dress for dancing. Her lovely mother wore matching Manolo flats in orange to match Federica’s!
Wanting a relaxed, informal wedding, there was no First Dance, but as soon as the musicians started playing, everyone was on their feet!
