Amidst the chaos of a wedding day, it’s so important to steal away for those quiet moments between you and your beloved. Moments like exchanging love letters, which is exactly what Elisabeth and Marcus planned just before their ceremony. The one and only Elizabeth Messina photographed an incredible gallery, Tessa Lyn Events designed the day, and the fairytale doesn’t end there. This couple is about to start a new chapter with a sweet baby on the way!
From the Bride… Marcus and I met on Christmas Eve at a friend’s annual Chrismukkah party. It was the same party we went to every year but for some reason this year seemed different and our eyes caught one another across the room. It wasn’t long before I realized this guy was something special and I couldn’t shake him. Two years later he took me to Santa Barbara on what turned out to be a rained out weekend. Marcus’ beach proposal was dashed and instead we found ourselves snuggled up in a bungalow listening to music and the fireplace crackle, it was then out of a white bathrobe pocket a small black box emerged. To this day, Marcus and I love our rainy fireside nights. Our engagement was much like the movie the “Five Year Engagement” and it did take us five years to make it to the alter, but once we did it was truly all we had worked towards and had envisioned for ourselves.
Our wedding was nothing short of a beautiful/crazy combo of excitement, romance, and pure emotion. My favorite moments were at the alter where under an orchid adorned chuppah we opened our hearts open to one another as we shared our intentions and dreams in creating a future together. While everyone says your wedding day will fly by in a blink of an eye (and it does), it was those moments before we met at the alter that I’ll really cherish. Marcus and I shared love letters to one another reminding ourselves that when the flowers were packed up and the guests had gone home it would be those cherished moments of the day that would last us a lifetime. Two dogs later, a house to call our own and the wedding of a dreams on the books we will be welcoming our honeymoon baby in May 2016.
From Tessa Lyn Events… Elisabeth and Marcus wanted a warm, elegant wedding with 90 of their closest friends and family. We transformed the reception using a palette of ivory, blush, and gold. The draping created glamour, the upholstered dining chairs mimicked an intimate dinner party, and the candles created romance. It was important to the bride and groom that the space felt romantic and cozy and that their guests felt special. The parting gifts for guests were Laduree scented macaron soaps and aromatherapy diffusers that had been shipped in from France.
