Trust me when I say, it doesn’t get much more nautical (or prettier) than this New York wedding. From the ceremony at the same church where the Bride’s parents said “I do” to the yacht club reception, this navy and pink striped day is quintessential nautical. From The Bride…Steve and I were married on a beautiful day in October, at the same church where my parents walked down the aisle more than 37 years before. Our ceremony set the tone for a day we envisioned as a timeless celebration that combined tradition with fun details that expressed our personalities.
A palette of navy blue and pink – accented with classic stripes – was brought to life through custom save the dates from Sincerely, Jackie, and carried throughout our attire and décor.
Keeping with our vision, I paired my Rosa Clara wedding dress with my mom’s veil and grandmother’s pearl necklace. Steve and his groomsmen wore grey suits and striped bow ties, while each bridesmaid chose her own navy Alfred Sung dress.
Our reception venue, Bridgeview Yacht Club, served as a beautiful waterfront setting for some of my favorite photos of the day captured by the incredibly talented Brklyn View Photography. The venue’s ballroom provided a classic backdrop for colorful, garden-inspired floral arrangements by Violet and Verde, which popped against the room’s navy and gold décor.
By choosing a venue that handled coordination and catering among many other things, we were able to focus more time and budget on personal details for our guests to enjoy – like a fun photo booth and favors, the groom’s favorite black and white cookies.
After an evening filled with toasts, food and dancing, the celebration came to a close with delicious donuts from a local bakery – a perfectly sweet ending to an even sweeter day!
