From Focused Bliss Productions...By far, Kelsey and Jerry are one of the most fun-loving and head-over-heels in love couples that we at Focused Bliss Productions have ever had the pleasure of filming.

After dating for seven years, these two tied the knot on a warm sunny day in May at the Quail Haven Farm in San Diego, California. It was a beautifully rustic event with many pops of color in the floral decor, stationery, and even the groomsmen's bow-ties.

The long build-up to this day welled up so many emotions and tears of joy, especially from their proud parents who could not contain these during bridal prep and the parent-dances. Kelsey and Jerry's own intense love for one another was reflected across every moment - from the beautifully written love notes for one another to an adorable first look in which Jerry could barely contain his excitement as Kelsey snuck up behind him!

This is definitely one wedding film not to miss, but make sure to bring a box of Kleenex (or two) before clicking play!

From The Bride...Jerry and I have been together for a long time so I had almost too much time to figure out how our wedding was going to look. The main thing that we kept coming back to was how can we make this a fun experience for our guests too. We really wanted to create a once in a lifetime experience where everyone felt welcome and had fun. That is why we allocated a lot of our time to personalizing our stationery, mason jars, napkins, and wedding favors. We wanted refined comfort food that didn't scream traditional wedding food. Curiocity Catering came through and did an all around fantastic job. Who doesn't want tacos, mini burgers, and parmesan truffle fries after a successful happy hour?

We are a young couple that don't really take ourselves too seriously so we wanted a wedding to reflect that. Many of my family members initially didn't see parts of our vision but we stayed true to it until the end and I couldn't be happier. I have always been a fan of vibrant colors as well as romantic rustic settings. I knew it was going to be a challenge to combine horses, gold sequins, and floral patterns together but I knew it was a challenge that we could accomplish. Jerry was very involved in the planning process from the get go which I am very grateful for. Without him, some of our most talked about details would not have happened. We started by gathering all of the images I had been gathering on my Pinterest on one page and picking what would be realistic and what else we wanted included. We also wanted everything that we brought in to look like it belonged in the venue.

We took on a huge amount of DIY project but two of my most memorable were making the moss covered table rounds for the guest tables and making my own veil. For the table rounds we took cardboard presentation boards and cut them down to 3 foot diameter rounds and attached the moss with spray adhesive. The moss rounds really transformed the event space and made it more whimsical. For the wedding veil I found a vintage lace on Etsy that matched the lace on my gown. Honestly that was the hardest part. The actual sewing of the lace onto the tulle only took three hours and I was able to make a detachable blusher as well. I highly recommend most brides to attempt to make their own wedding veil. It made the whole wedding planning process more tangible.

We really had a lot of different fabrics used through out the wedding as decor. What I found worked the best for us was using those with vibrant colors as accent pieces like napkins or bow ties, while the more neutral patterns were used for bigger pieces like tablecloths and drapery. That way the bright colors weren’t too overwhelming but they were still there to break up the underlying neutral color pallet of the venue.

The actual wedding day was surreal. I was pretty worried about little details of the day until our first look. As soon as I saw his face I knew that everything was going to be okay. From that moment on it was pure bliss. I have never cried so many happy tears in my whole life. It was a magic day filled with lots of laughter and I won't have it any other way. It was incredible seeing all of the little touches that we have been working on for the past year come together seamlessly. Yes, we pulled off a vibrant wedding where the bridesmaids were adorned in gold sequin rented dresses and the groomsmen wore floral bow ties. One of my best pieces of advice for future brides and grooms is to go for it. You regret all of the things that you changed for other people instead of being true to yourself.

From The Groom...A critical aspect of the wedding planning process was narrowing down the photographer and videographer choices. As a professional photographer myself, the images and videos that come from the wedding were the most important thing to me. They are truly the only things that last from the wedding planning process. Florals wilt, catering gets eaten, outfits get put in the closet. The things that last are the photos and videos. Because of that I took the time to find professionals that I could trust and provide the quality timeless products that my family will cherish for years to come. I chose Wayne and Angela Photography and Focused Bliss Productions because they create products that are timeless and clean.

DIY decor was a task that I underestimated. We decided to create or acquire majority of the decor ourselves. We handmade the pennants, the two head tables, table runners, and various other decor items. My father and I hand built our two head tables. This was an amazing experience as we created tables that we are now using as our dining room tables. This bonding experience brought my father and I together. We purchased our own stemware, vintage napkins and bud vases for the tables. We bought all our wine, champagne, and mixers from Bevmo and beer from Costco. Don’t underestimate how much space in your house a whole weddings worth of alcohol, decor and dinnerware takes up. It was all worth it in the end as we saved thousands of dollars make, acquiring and storing everything ourselves. Make sure you call some giving friends who will help with DIY projects and moving heavy things.

The wedding day was wonderful, all of our planning from the prior year made the day go off without a hitch. It was all worth it when we stood up at the archway and kissed. We were married. The guests really enjoyed the experience and could see the effort we put into really present a unique guest experience. We danced, got drunk, laughed and had an amazing time.
