This Stunning Rancho Valencia Wedding is Seriously Dripping in Romance
Not every meet cute is a "love at first sight" kind of story. In fact, sometimes it can be the exact opposite. And for these two cuties, what started as a dislike of each other in high school turned into a meant-to-be relationship that all culminated in one of the prettiest weddings ever. Think beautiful blooms from Organic Elements, a breathtaking Rancho Valencia setting and one gorgeous moment after another captured brilliantly by heidi-o-photo. Head to THE VAULT for so much more.
From the Bride... How did we meet, well, it wasn't love at first sight! Ricky and I met in high school and had mutual friends. At some point in our lives we ended up just not liking each other very much. I was loud and crazy and he was a mellow surfer who thought I was a bit to much to handle. Over the years we kept running into each other to the point where one day we decided to give our friendship a try. From that moment on we never turned back. On our five year anniversary we tied the knot!
On my 21st first birthday Ricky took me wine tasting at South Coast Winery in Temecula, CA. While walking through the orange groves he stopped and said "I need to tie my shoe" I made a comment saying "ha, it looks like your going to propose." To my surprise he pulls a little black box from his sock and from that second on I nearly blacked out. I don't know what he said, all I knew is that i was screaming "YES!"
How did we pick our venue? This is going to sound crazy, but the first thing I asked when I arrived to view Rancho Valencia was "Can I see your carpet in your ballroom". I needed to get married somewhere that has nice carpet... strange, right? Once the carpet had my approval (because let me say their ballroom is gorgeous), I took the time to look at everything else the venue had to offer. There was just not one thing wrong with this place! We loved how beautiful and peaceful it was. We loved all the greenery. We loved the service. We just knew we had to have a special day there!
We wanted something timeless and clean. We both wanted to mix our styles together. I love the softness of ivory roses and greenery and he loved the idea of having masculine touches like wood. So we sat down with Susanne, our wedding planner, and she brought our ideas to life! We loved the soft flower details, romantic votive candles that she incorporated with wood accents. It was just perfect!
The most special part was praying and asking God to be the center of our marriage, because we know that we cant do it without Him. Our first act as a married couple was taking the first communion to remind us of what Jesus did for us.
My favorite vendors were Heidi & Kevin, my photographers, and Susanne my wedding planner. They both did an exceptional job. Our photos turned out amazing and they both captured REAL moments that I will cherish for a lifetime. Susanne really captured our vision and made it come to life. Without them my day wouldn't have been so amazing!
Our most vivid memory was simply the love! Since it was an intimate family and closest friends wedding it was so nice to feel the genuine love and support from everyone. I loved my father daughter dance. My dad and I just kept hugging each other and crying the entire time.
