Proof A Traditional Wedding Is Anything But Boring
Southern weddings are full of tradition, and this beautiful day from Clay Austin Photography and Cinema Weddings is no exception. But what makes it so special is all the personal touches — the "You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling" serenade and Lissie and David's getaway in her father's vintage, Triumph TR-6. See all the beautiful moments in The Vault!
From Clay Austin Photography... Lissie and David got married in the historic gardens of the Governor’s Mansion in Columbia, South Carolina on May 9th, 2015. 350 guests attended this early summer soirée, with a classic color palette of gold, ivory and touches of navy blue. As guests entered cocktail hour, they were greeted with a lavish spread of foie gras, crab and heirloom tomato salad. The reception tent was draped in soft, white fabric and was lit with three, antique crystal chandeliers. Tables were dressed in champagne dupioni silks highlighted with gold Chivari chairs and lots of candles and mercury glass votives.
Guests enjoyed a candy bar displayed in oversized martini glasses as their favors to take home. The 5-tier cake was exquisite with flavors such as lemon, chocolate, strawberry and almond amaretto – set upon a silver cake stand and featured in one of the interior rooms within the historic Lace House. Before the couple danced the night away (and jumped up on stage for a few songs), they snuck away to unbury the bourbon in the gardens (which they had buried approximately one-month prior to the wedding in hopes to keep the rain way!) Towards the end of the evening, all of the Citadel Alumni (and fraternity brothers of the David) serenaded Lissie to You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling’ before ending the night with rally towels as the Bride and Groom departed in her father’s vintage, Triumph TR-6.
