From Devoted To You Inc...Grace and Yulin met in university and had been in a long distance relationship for the past two years. They wanted their wedding to be intimate and had friends and families from all over the world attend. We curated the wedding to not only look beautiful, but also memorable to the couple by including the things they liked – such as their favorite food, and games that involved guests like The Running Man, which is an Asian hit TV show similar in concept to The Amazing Race. A wedding is about two people in love joining their lives together and we want to showcase that by incorporating things that both Grace and Yulin enjoy in their wedding.

Both the wedding ceremony and the reception took place at the most beautiful venues. Their first look and wedding ceremony took place at Graydon Hall Manor followed by a wedding reception at Estates of Sunnybrook. We teamed up with Nous Design Group and Megan Wappel Designs to bring Grace’s vision to life. We used Grace’s favorite flower – pink peonies as the inspiration of the design to create a spring wedding in the fall. Megan Wappel designed all the wedding stationery and the sweet table for the wedding – from invitation set to day-of stationery, including The Running Man game booklet. Guests teamed up and competed against each other to complete all of the challenges assigned. Photos were also posted on Instagram with the hashtag #yulingracebigday, which was showcased as a slideshow for everyone to enjoy in the evening. Gisele from Nous Design Group provided the design and décor service and brought Grace’s dream wedding to life. Our team coordinated the sourcing of vintage tableware from Plate Occasions where each guest had a unique place setting in various pinks and patterns, pairing with gold cutleries.

The sweet table created by Megan Wappel and Christina from Truffles was so picture perfect that everyone swooned over the beautiful delicious sweets. The couples danced between the sparklers under the stars. The wedding couldn’t have been any better.

From The Bride...Yulin and I always knew we wanted to incorporate the outdoors into our wedding, so when we found the McLean House, it was the perfect venue for a peaceful and intimate ceremony for 50 guests surrounded by the greenery. It felt like the middle of spring with fresh flowers blooming around. No one would’ve ever guessed it was the middle of an autumn September month.

The color palette was feminine and simple with blush and pink tones sprinkling through all aspects of the wedding from the table linens to the bridesmaids’ dresses to the desserts. The light tones complemented the all-white shell of the house, keeping a soft, graceful feel, whereas a darker color would have be too harsh of a contrast. I incorporated peonies everywhere I could since they were my favorite flowers so they would peek out from the bridesmaid’s bouquets, the centerpieces and even the invitation envelopes.

Yulin and I wanted to incorporate some fun aspects to our wedding to bring laughter and fun for our guests. During the ceremony, Yulin pulled out a guitar that he hid behind a bush and serenaded me in song for a full three minutes! He completely caught me by surprise so I serenaded him right back later that day during cocktail hour. Between the ceremony and reception, we created a scavenger hunt for our guests to complete. Some tasks included take a picture with a lady in white (not the bride), take a picture with an old couple, find a Yulin look alike, make a veil and bowtie, and buy Lindt chocolate. Proof of completion was to be posted on Instagram with the hashtag #yulingracebigday.

Our sweets table was the most popular. It was so beautifully arranged no one wanted to touch it at first, but once a macaron was snatched up, so did the cake pops and cupcakes because they tasted just as divine as they looked and there is always room left for dessert.

I had a vision of delicate details and soft floral touches and my planner Carmen Luk took in all I wanted and created the most stunning wedding. I didn’t need to worry for a minute on my wedding day because I knew everything was in good hands; I knew this was a day I could wholesomely enjoy with my new husband. I felt beautiful in my Vera Wang wedding dress, and custom Valencienne red gown. It was a picture perfect day that left me and my husband joyous and I wouldn’t change anything for the world.
