Whether you’re prepping for the bridal shower, engagement shoot or the big day, sometimes you want to bump up the glam. That’s where faux lashes come in. They’re the perfect addition to take your look to the next level, and the pros at Face Time Beauty are sharing their insider tips. More of a visual learner? We’ve got you covered with beautiful step-by-step photos from the lens of You Look Lovely.
BUY YOUR LASHES: Opt for drug store lashes vs. the expensive department store kind. They are more malleable so you can easily bend them to fit your own lash line and they have a thinner band for a more natural look. For glue, I love Duo Eyelash Glue in black which can also be purchased at your local drug store.
PREP + APPLY: When applying glue to the faux lashes, make sure you let the glue get tacky and wait a second before you apply them to your lash line. This helps the lashes lock and ensure that they don’t slide at out of place.
SECURE: Remember to pay extra attention to the inner and outer corners and hold those two spots on the natural lash line as long as needed to stick and secure. Without applying an excess amount of glue, you want to do all you can to mitigate the risk of the lashes separating from your lash line.
FINISH THE LOOK: Remember, faux lashes can and will feel heavy on your natural lash set and although this feeling will disappear after a few minutes, a great way to make them look and feel more natural is to integrate the faux lashes with the real lashes using a mascara wand. This is an important step that shouldn’t be skipped!
