From Magnolia Weddings… Amanda and Clay’s wedding was in the backyard of Amanda’s family home in Los Altos.
Amanda and Clay were torn about whether they wanted to do a first look or not. They really wanted a group photo before the ceremony of their whole wedding party; eight groomsmen, seven bridesmaids, and a flower girl, but they didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony. When I scouted their home I realized the second story porch overlooking the backyard would be a perfect way to arrange the wedding party and keep the bride and groom from seeing each other. All they had to do was not look up or down.
The ceremony took place under a large oak tree that was decorated with a chandelier, flowers, and fabric. The groom choked up a bit when he did see his bride walking across the lawn. That moment made me happy we had worked to save their first look at each other for during the ceremony.
The wedding tent was beautifully decorated, the dessert buffet had so many options and the music was great, but more important than all of that was how much fun the friends and family had that day. The evening had dinner, drinks and dancing, and ended with a great sparkler send-off.
