Elegant Southern Winter Wedding at Lowndes Grove

As soon as this beautiful Bride’s parents, the husband-and-wife team who run Patrick Properties Hospitality Group, acquired the scenic Lowndes Grove, she immediately knew she wanted to have her dream wedding there. And let’s just say, her wedding is truly a dream. See every beautiful detail captured by Virgil Bunao in The Vault!

From Virgil BunaoThis particular winter season in Charleston was definitely a cold one. About a month before Laura and Andrew’s wedding, I was also at Lowndes Grove shooting another beautiful wedding on what was probably the most coldest and windiest days ever in the Lowcountry. Thankfully, for Laura and Andrew’s big day, the rain, wind, and cold subsided in what seemed like it was just for them and I captured some of the most beautiful shots.

Laura is the daughter of the husband-and-wife team who run Patrick Properties Hospitality Group and rightfully so, she had her pick of some of the most gorgeous venues in Charleston. According to the bride, when her parents had acquired Lowndes Grove, she immediately knew she wanted to have her wedding there and she definitely made a great choice. Laura and Andrew’s tastes for the wedding were rustic, and Melissa Barton from A Charleston Bride pulled off the look by choosing a soft color palette that complemented the Charleston winter landscape and incorporated neutral wood tones.

Overall, Laura and Andrew wanted a fun and relaxed vibe to permeate throughout the wedding, so they skipped a seated dinner, brought in a great southern barbecue twist (check out the pigs!) and a bacon bar, and set up the ever-fun board game Jenga for everyone. It was seriously a very cool day but thanks to the decor from Jonie LaRosee’s floral arrangements and the rentals from Snyder Events and EventHaus, Laura and Andrew also managed to make it look like a very classic wedding day. I had heaps of fun photographing this day, this couple, and the Patrick and Boyles families. They were all so warm and welcoming, and I’m so thankful to have been part of a big celebration.
