I’ve been dying to take a weekend trip to NYC for the past couple months, and this wedding is officially pushing my urban wanderlust over the edge. Photographed by our dear friends at Christian Oth Studio with florals by Poppies & Posies, think a modern take on old world glamour with a candlelit reception that would make any guest feel thoroughly spoiled. Hopple Popple planned, Generation Events made certain the entertainment was on point, and you can keep the party going with a trip to The Vault.
From The Bride…Mike and I met 6 years ago in New York, between Christmas and New Years. The City has always been very special to both of us and it seemed natural to have our wedding there, despite currently living in Boston.
The hardest part of the planning process was honestly just figuring out where to start. Since we were making most people travel we knew we wanted to put together a full weekend schedule and I had some general ideas about look and feel: an informal ceremony performed by a close friend, a simple and elegant room design, and lots of time with family and friends. Most importantly, we wanted the entire weekend to feel like a big celebration so it had to be fun!
Fortunately, our first decision ended up being our best: choosing to work with Linda, Aya and Julie and the Hopple Popple team here in Boston to plan the event. They were terrific to work with and introduced us to a fantastic group of vendors who really brought the whole weekend together: Robin Popelsky at The Bowery (and later The Standard), Poppies and Posies for flowers and design, Jason Fioto at Generation Events for music/DJ, and Glen Allsop at Christian Oth for photography. We connected right away with Glen and I think it really shows in the photos. He was incredible!
