From Melissa Jill Photography…The day Murphy realized he wanted to spend all of his days with Alexis was a day they spent in Sedona. The two hour drive was their very first road trip together. They drove up from Phoenix one Sunday morning and hiked the red rocks before having lunch in town. On the way back to Phoenix, they stopped by the Out of Africa zoo to watch the live feedings of the lions, hyaenas, bears, and tigers. At this point in the day Murphy remembers feeling hot, tired, sweaty and fairly stinky … but strangely he didn’t care about any of those things. He was having one of the best days of his life because he was sharing it with Alexis. From that point on, he knew that he wanted to spend ALL of his days with her.
Murphy and Alexis are always up for an adventure. And thank goodness for that, because getting up to Merry-Go-Round Rock in Sedona is no small feat! They rented a 4-wheel-drive SUV to make the trip up the rocky mountain road. It took 45 minutes to make the 6.5 mile journey. But once at the top, it was SO worth it! The red rocks and stunning vistas of Sedona are the perfect backdrop for Murphy and Alexis’s engagement photos, and a fitting way to remember the day Murphy knew he wanted to be with Alexis forever.
