From the Bride… Planning for our wedding day was a much-needed distraction from the fact that William was deployed overseas. Missing him fueled my desire to create a day that celebrated our story, past, present and future. #VlovesW became more than just a wedding hashtag, but a mission to create a day that showed him just how much I love and appreciate him. From the date chosen to the color of the groomsmen’s socks, every detail had meaning.

William’s love of history and my appreciation of architectural design made Linden Place Museum the perfect venue. The fact that it was located in Rhode Island, where we first met, made it even more perfect. From there, everything else seemed to fall into place. Seriously, how could we not be married in a small seaside New England town that is home to the longest continuous 4th of July celebration in America?

Stylistically, we were inspired to create an atmosphere of vintage elegance infused with organic whimsy and undertones of patriotism. We wanted the reception to be a mixture of structured indoor dining and dancing blended with relaxed outdoor lounging. The Linden Place carriage house and rose gardens fulfilled such a desire for a fluid and open setting. Our first dance photographs taken from outside the carriage house doors embody this vision for the day. The VW Photobus parked in the gardens helped to bridge the indoor-outdoor space, and made for a playful addition that provided guests with photo-shoot entertainment throughout the night.

As I reflect on our wedding, I am overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude for the all the family and friends that made our vision a reality. Most of the décor was a labor of love involving many helping hands. From the vintage furniture, to the living family tree, the day was brimming with detailed significance and beauty.Everything about our wedding day makes my heart happy. It was the day that celebrated #VlovesW to perfection.
