From The Bride...With Jake’s love for Loudoun County, Virginia, and my love for wine, we set out to find the most perfect vineyard for our wedding. After visiting countless vineyards with our moms, we stumbled across a new vineyard, Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Virginia. We instantly knew this is where we wanted to be married. The endless rows of grape vines, rolling hills in the distance, and rustic but elegant reception space made for the perfect venue.

Over the next 9 months, all of the pieces began falling into place. My grandma bought me the most beautiful wedding dress and veil, my now mother-in-law designed the prettiest flower arrangements, and my dad made the most gorgeous barn door and wedding arch for our ceremony.

Groom’s card to the bride the morning of the wedding: “Danielle, Five and a half years ago you asked me to borrow my headphones, but little did I know you’d be taking my heart. Since the day I met you, I’ve been captivated by you beauty, energy, kind heartedness, and love you have for me and so many others. I love you more than you could ever know. You are the spitting image of my dream woman and I am the luckiest man alive today, and every day. We didn’t go to school together and we didn’t have any mutual friends; our meeting was fate. Every date and conversation we’ve had has been a first, and each day we learn something new about each other. Today I learned that thinking of you in your wedding dress could make me cry at 7am. I’ve learned that what makes me happiest is seeing your dreams come true and I cannot wait for a lifetime of happiness with you. Thank you for always laughing at my stupid jokes and letting me be myself. You are my inspiration, my comfort zone, and my happy thought. You are my best friend. I promise to always love you and worship our marriage and family. I promise to try and be a better man today than I was yesterday. I promise to make you a mother and be the best father our children could ever have. I promise to grow old with you and love you more with every passing year. So today, I give you not only my headphones, but the rest of my life. And I cannot WAIT to see you! Love always, Cobi”

The morning of the wedding, I remember feeling so calm; knowing that so much time and effort went into making each of these little decisions gave me a sense of peace that everything would go as planned. I truly was more excited to marry my best friend than I was nervous. I even recall telling our amazing wedding planner, Katie Joga, that this bride thing was a cinch and I could totally be a professional bride :)

The weather could not have been more beautiful the day of the wedding; it was actually too beautiful as we had to find shade for our first look!

The ceremony was so beautiful and everything I could have ever hoped for; even the surprise dip from my now husband during our first kiss :)

All night, everyone kept telling us how we were the happiest bride and groom they had ever seen! How our happiness really set the tone for the night. Thinking back, our wedding day was full of so much love, happiness and great memories!

The best advice I can give to a bride and groom, is be sure to let your personalities and relationship shine through on your wedding day. Don’t allow the “chaos” around you or the “wedding structure” take away from the moment you are sharing with your soon to be spouse. It is so fun for me to look back and recall all the little moments where our humorous and often silly love for one another stood out. Let me give you a great example. Our wedding cake was on a barrel, and there wasn’t room for a plate, forks, etc. So, when it came time to cut the cake and all eyes were on, I realized we only had one fork and the cake cutting set. So what do we do? I very gracefully fed Jake his bite on the fork, and Jake very humorously served me a bite of cake on the cake server. It made for a great picture and a fun moment shared between the both of us!

Since our wedding day, I think Jake and I have looked at our wedding photos at least 100 times. We are so thankful to everyone who made our wedding day so perfect!
