See these centerpieces? Well, would you believe me if I told you that Leah and Brian actually unearthed those vessels from the very ground where they were married days before? AH-MAZING. Even more awesome, the fact that this pair made their day truly unique. From their ring-warming ceremony, to the hand drawn wedding logo, every detail was their own and we’re absolutely smitten with it all. See their special day in its entirety captured by the uber talented Jonas Seaman Photography in THE VAULT!
From Jonas Seaman Photography… This was such a beautiful day. Leah & Brian got married at Triple Brook Farms on Vashon Island. They had so many beautiful personal details throughout the day including vintage bottles on the tables unearthed from a family property, their own hand drawn wedding logo, and little bags of coffee beans roasted fresh by Leah’s Dad as wedding favors.
From the Bride…Brian’s family owns land on the south end of Vashon Island, and we spent a day digging up antique bottles and jars that had been buried on their property decades earlier. We used them in our centerpieces to hold flowers and lights, and it was a nice nod to the history of the island as well as looking really cute, and costing nothing.
We included a ring-warming, since we wanted the ceremony to be about more than just the two of us, and involve our guests as well. We wanted to honor the fact that everyone there had shaped our lives in some way, and had helped us to become those two people who were standing up at the front, about to get married to each other.
Trust your instincts, and hire professionals whenever possible. Having people show up and just get busy making things happen without having to ask a ton of questions or need to be told what to do was such a relief after doing so much of the heavy lifting ourselves. Nothing will be as bad as you think it will be. It was the best day! It took a ton of effort and planning to get there, but I can’t think of anything that could have made it better.
