Wellness Apps Our Editors Are Using in the New Year

If you're anything like myself (and the lovely ladies I work with), you make it a priority to set aside time to unplug, but also feel pretty lost without your phone (a.k.a. your digital personal assistant). From nutritional resources to workout inspo to meditative tools, we're big fans of apps that help keep our bodies and minds on track. See our picks below and let us know any you use in the comments below!

Stand Up! For those of us that have a sedentary job (ahem you would think I was chained to my computer) this is the perfect little reminder to stand up and take a little stretch throughout the day.

Sleep Cycle. I swear by it (and also now know exactly how bad I sleep!).

Lose It. This little app makes meal planning and creating a "food diary" insanely simple.

Couch to 5k. For the girl who isn't into running (ahem, me!) this app gets you off the couch and moving. Believe me, if I can train to run a 5k anyone can.

Yummly. Each week my husband and I create a loose meal plan so we're not scrambling when 5pm rolls around. Yummly is a great source of tastebud inspo and even includes a helpful shopping list. Best part? It shows how long each meal will take to make so we know what we're getting ourselves into.

Eve. This one is more on the personal care side, but so super helpful in tracking your cycle. Especially if you are just getting off any form of birth control, this is a great way to measure your cycle.

Pedometer++. Working from home has plenty of perks, one being that my home office tends to involve me parked out on the couch with my laptop. This trend of sitting and snacking can certainly take its toll which is why I've challenged myself to up my steps everyday. I find myself finding excuses to be more active in little ways and the bonus is it shows me just how comatose I've been the past! It's the motivation I needed to get up off the couch on those lazy weekends!

Sleep Cycle. I'll be the first to tell you that I love sleep, but I HATE feeling tired. This app helps give me more insight to my sleep cycles, but one feature I love is that it doubles and an intuitive alarm clock. For example, if you set your alarm to wake you up at 6:30 am, but the app detects that you’re actually in a very shallow sleep at 6:20 am, it will wake you up then so you’ll feel less tired and groggy!

Headspace. I'm excited to give meditation a real try this year and I'm counting on Headspace to guide me and help me along in this new adventure!

White Noise. We all know how essential sleep is and I'm one of those people who need a little background noise to drift off to dreamland. I use this app's variety of calming noises to ensure I get all the zzz's I need!

SoulCycle. I'm obsessed with the soulcycle app (and soulcycle in general). Even if I'm not at a computer at 12:00 p.m., I can still sign up for my favorite instructor's class on the go.

ZocDoc. Finding a doctor in a new city isn't my idea of fun, but ZocDoc makes it easy. The app and website helps you find an in-network doctor no matter what speciality, shares patient reviews and lets you book an appointment with a simple click.

My Mira. My workout regime is pretty sad (New Year, New You just went out the window), but I love tracking my steps throughout the day to make sure I'm moving around enough. The Mira app is beyond user friendly, but the actual bracelet is the winner! It looks like a piece of jewelry, so when I'm going for that chic look, you'd never know it's actually a tracker.
