From the Bride…Daniel and I met four summers ago through mutual friends in Montauk, New York. We began spending time at all the local venues, such as Surf Lodge, Rushmeyer’s, and Navy Beach. His charismatic charm and sarcastic humor immediately drew me to him. Being that we both lived in Manhattan, our romance began to florish through the Fall. I woke up two years later to a surprise note on my nightstand saying to “pack a bag, we were going on a special trip”. We jumped in the car and ended up at Wolffer Vineyard in BridgeHampton, New York . After a little wine tasting, Daniel asked me to go for a walk in the Vineyard…I turned around to see him on one knee asking me to marry him, and to my surprise a photographer hidden in the bushes!! We spent the rest of the romantic weekend at Topping Rose House in Bridgehamtpon Daniel and I immediately knew the Wedding had to be in Montauk, where we had spent the past three summers together. The next day we toured the Montauk Yacht Club, where my family had spent many summers boating. The wedding was immediately booked that day and the fun planning began!!!

Even though Daniel and I met in Montauk during the Summer time, the Fall has always been our favorite season. Pumpkins, fall leaves, drinking warm apple cider in front of a fire will always feel like home to us. Driving out to Montauk on Route 27 and passing farm stands were the inspiration behind their wedding. We looked for deep burnt orange, grays, pewter and copper. Dusty millers and succulents, gilded copper pumpkins, burnt orange calla lilies and dalhias all helped pull together the warm feel of the Fall out East. Daniel and I loved the cozy feel of candles and used white lanterns to bring in a nautical Montauk feel.

As they guests walked into the Ceremony, they were greeted by cartoon illustrations of our bridal party, including our Maltese puppy, Dolce. Small pins were set on a table, saying “Team Bride” and “Team Groom” for guests to wear as funny conversation starters. Personalized Mad libs were on each chair for guests to fill out as they waiting for the Bridal party to walk down the aisle. Satin and lace wands with small bells were also handed out for guests to wave as we walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.

The sun shinned throughout our special day and we wanted a sunset cocktail hour. Baskets were filled with ivory and charcoal gray pashmina’s to help keep the ladies warm. Soft blankets were laid on each of the couches outside for guests to wrap around them as they sipped on pumpkin spiced martini’s mixed by the Yacht Club’s Mixologist.

After we were announced as “Mr. and Mrs.” we immediately went into our first dance, “Running on Faith” by Eric Clapton. Although the more upbeat sounds by our DJ and guests waving their “Lauren and Daniel” glow sticks were memorable, we are most fond of our moment dancing for the first time as husband and wife. Speeches made by the two Matrons of Honor and the Groom’s Best Man, brought tears to both of our eyes and reminded us of how lucky we were to be surrounded by so much love and support from family and friends.
