Oh, to be a guest at this sweet Southern day. I’d never want to leave, at sight of this chandy-adorned tent alone. And I can always count on the grounds of Lowndes Grove Plantation to wow me. Top it all off with tables dressed in La Tavola Fine Linens and the result is a gallery from Virgil Bunao that makes THE VAULT swell with even more beauty today.
From A Charleston Bride…Katie and Tripp knew the minute they saw Lowndes Grove that it was the perfect setting for their Sunday, summer wedding! They held an intimate affair for their closest friends and family on Labor Day weekend. It was very obvious to me from the minute we met what was important to them – for their guests to feel taken care of, the décor, and amazing food! Guests enjoyed cocktail hour with cheese straws, passed hors d’oeuvres and a raw bar. Katie even surprised Tripp with a bacon bar for his wedding gift!
Guests were welcomed into a fully draped dinner tent with nine chandeliers and long, family-style dinner tables. The table numbers were written on vintage trophies and intermixed with classic white and green floral. After a three-course dinner, complete with a southern trio of crab cake, shrimp and grits, and fried green tomatoes, their guests enjoyed the night on the dance floor. A girl after my own heart, Katie wanted to be sure we had plenty of desserts and a wide variety! We served wedding cake along with cobbler, bread pudding, cheesecake and mini funnel cakes!
