Sometimes it’s a major piece of the wedding puzzle that captures my attention but sometimes it’s the tiniest of details. And in this case, it’s one simple sweater. But not just any ol’ sweater, but the Bride’s grandmother’s that she slipped over her gown when temps dipped a little low; the sweetest “something old” I ever did see. From Twah Dougherty… It was a dream to work with Kasey and Alex on their wedding day. I love that both Kasey and Alex were so involved with the details yet were completely relaxed. They completely trusted their vendors knowing they hired the best. I love that Kasey incorporated something old using her grandmother’s sweater as an accessory to wear when the temperature dipped down. The clean palette mixed with gold details for a touch of luxury, in an organic environment overlooking the lake, was the perfect combination to pull off this botanical style wedding. Luxe Events did wonders with executing the couple’s vision as they always do!
From the Bride… Alex and I met eleven years ago as undergraduates at UCLA, and every day I feel so lucky to be in love with my best friend. We just have fun together, no matter what we are doing, and planning our wedding was no different. Most of our friends and family think we’re crazy perfectionists, but we just love rolling up our sleeves for a good creative challenge. I’ll admit, sometimes we may get a little obsessed with the details.
My mom offered up her house in Lake Oswego, which was the main inspiration for our wedding decor. We wanted a clean botanical theme to embrace the beautiful lake view. It was important to us that our wedding feel relaxed and personalized. We spent a lot of time thinking through the design details and finding professionals who understood our point-of-view.
We are so fortunate to have worked with such a talented bunch of professionals, led by our wedding planner Brooke Kranzler from Luxe Wedding Events.
