Romantic Summer Wedding at Chateau des Charmes
When you take a beautiful Bride-to-be and combine with her handsome hockey-playing Groom, the results are nothing short of magical. From the Bride... When we first met, it really was love at first sight. We instantly connected, talked the whole night away, and the rest (as they say) is history. During our first year of dating, we traveled the world. Luciano plays professional hockey, so I joined him on his journey across Europe. There was truly never a dull moment on our adventure together. When we came home for the off-season, he surprised me with the sweetest proposal. I came home from work one day and he had our entire living room covered in candles and roses, got down one knee, and asked me to marry him. It was a magical moment.
We spent the following year traveling the world again, and during this time we planned our dream wedding. Having spent our summers in Niagara-on-the-Lake, we knew exactly where we wanted to have it. We chose Château des Charmes, a stunning French vineyard that sits amongst rows and rows of beautiful grape vines. We drew inspiration from our travels, and planned the entire wedding abroad. Our vision was a white, romantic wedding, with a touch of rustic elegance. We incorporated hints of gold, pink, and a bit of DIY charm.
Our day was perfect. We had an outdoor ceremony, with the vineyard as the backdrop. Our dinner service was under a draped tent, where we added chandeliers and gorgeous gold details. We chose a delicious four course meal where we paired each course with a matching red and white Château des Charmes wine. For some fun, our feature drink was a watermelon mojito which we named, “the blushing groom.” It was so romantic, joyful, and intimate, having only our closest friends and family share our day with us.
My favorite part of the night was our first dance. It was an emotional, yet exciting moment. There was so much love and joy in the room, and you can just feel it in the air. Everything came together perfectly that night, and we will always cherish those memories.
