DIY Wax Candles

‘Tis the season to cozy up your living space, and what better way than with our fabulous new DIY?! We’re talking the ultimate craft and conversation started, because who wouldn’t be impressed with your new DIY candle. Just turn on that crockpot and press play, because we’ve got it all burning bright below!

Cut and chop enough wax to fill the 1/2 of the metal tin can (Note: if you are using a pot on a stovetop instead, you’ll want to cut enough wax to fill your vessel halfway). To add a bit of color, place 1/4 wax melt on top of the chopped wax in the metal tin can.

Once the water in your crockpot has reached 180 degrees, gently placed your tin can filled with wax in the crockpot (it’ll wobble a bit, but just hold it steady until it floats without tipping).

Once your wax has melted, remove your tin can from the heat source making sure that your color is well blended.

Dip one of your small water filled balloons in the hot wax 2-3 times and then while holding onto the ballon place the ballon on a piece of parchment paper. Allow your balloon to form a base, flattening the wax on the bottom. Once the wax is set, repeat the process. Once you feel that your balloon can stand on it’s own, let go and make more! (Note: you might need to rewarm your wax in the crockpot if it hardens)

Once the wax has set up, pop and remove your balloon from the mold. Voila – you now have the perfect colored wax candle holder!
