From the Bride... Jesse and I wanted a picturesque, rustic wedding to celebrate with our closest family and friends. His dream was to have spectacular photos to share with our future grandchildren (proof that I hit the husband jackpot) and my dream was to throw the party of our lives. The importance of good food and drink was mutually understood. That and fun, so the first thing we did in planning our wedding was to purchase custom corn hole boards!

Finding our venue in Napa Valley was serendipitous. Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch popped up on a real wedding blog just like this. Once we read foodie reviews of the place, we were sold and planned it from across the country after one visit.

We had a lot of help with the shabby chic details of our wedding. Monica at So Eventful really understood my vision. With her help and wedding decor crafted by my little sisters, including handmade Bride and Groom signs, we pulled it off.

The day of our wedding was flawless. The gardens, lawn, and market lights outdoors at Farmstead were simply perfect. Our ceremony was held under a walnut tree. Jesse insisted that we write our own vows (further proof that he is wonderful) and I cried (many) happy tears. The romantic flowers from EV Floral were what did it.

During our reception, we had a live fire with delicious seasonal food cooked outside on the plancha, which was a great spectacle. Dessert was cake by Sweetie Pies and s'mores, a unique offering by Farmstead.

Our guests came from all over the country, but if I am being honest, most of the attendees were part of my mom's large Irish-American family. One of the most memorable moments of the night came as an impromptu Irish sing-along from that side of the family, welcoming (or hazing) my new husband.

Another one of my favorite things on the day of our wedding was seeing our bridal party all decked out. All five ladies picked out their own dresses - the only direction I provided was the color scheme. They wore short blush dresses from a variety of designers and I loved the mismatched look. The groomsmen didn't have much choice, but given the option of vest or suspenders, they all chose suspenders. They looked adorably old-fashioned.

Our entire wedding was dreamy and everything was beautifully captured by Caitlin O'Reilly Photography. Now we dream of the day that we can show our grandchildren!
