What’s your dream wedding look like? For Rachel and James it meant an intimate, relaxed, and unique celebration in Ibiza. Surrounded by stunning scenery, amazing weather and loved ones, their destination fete was beautifully captured by Ana Lui Photography. From the beautiful reception overflowing with romance, to the ceremony blooming with tradition, we’ve got it all in THE VAULT!
From the Bride… What mattered to us most was that the day was relaxed, intimate and unique. Ibiza was the ideal place, it is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited, it offers stunning scenery, amazing weather and lots of stunning venues. We were able to have the formal religious ceremony that was very important to us, but the rest of the day could be very informal yet very beautiful, something that is difficult to find in the UK. Being only a 2 hour flight from the UK it meant all of our closest family and friends were able to attend our wedding and many joined us for a full week of celebrating.”
We married in a pretty spanish chapel at Es Cubells, in a spectacular location overlooking the coastline of Ibiza. The reception venue Elixir has the most stunning view of Es Vedra (the magic rock in the sea which is a symbol of love and fertility) which provided the perfect backdrop to our day.
In keeping with the informal feel, we kept the decor simple, with white flowers – Peonies (my favourite) along with Roses, Hydrangeas and Freesia. We added a touch of gold with our stationery and scattered hundreds of candles all over the venue.
There is something so special about Mira’s dresses, they are all handmade so each one is unique. As soon as I came across them online I knew I had to have one for my wedding! I chose the Lihi because I loved the detail on the top with the guipure floral lace and sequins and the flowy silk organza skirt felt lovely and light.
Arranging a wedding in a different country was a bit daunting, but it was completely worth it. It was the most special, fun and memorable day of our lives.
