As we all prepare to gather around a table with the ones we love, our hearts are full. Not only are we thankful for our nearest and dearest, but we’re so thankful to share this little place of inspiration with you every single day. So in between that last minute meal prep, we’re serving up a dose of pretty that’s perfectly in sync with the harvest season. A crew of New England vendors put together this eye candy feast, with even more images from Ruth Eileen in THE VAULT.
From Colleen of Dunlovely Events… We began planning for this shoot with the idea of mixing vintage pieces into a traditional fall harvest scene. Applecrest Farm was the perfect location. This idyllic farm, nestled away in the charming town of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, embodies everything that represents a New England Fall: the smell of homemade apple cider, the sprawling orchards as far as the eye can see, the feeling of cool, crisp autumn air on your cheeks, and a warm sense of community. When selecting our color palette, we wanted to play to the romantic side of a New England fall and decided on various shades of yellow, purple, and cream with metallic gold accents.
Sweet Annie Floral Design brought these colors to life with her exquisite centerpiece, which highlighted not only our moody palette, but gave off an undeniably loose, romantic feel. She adorned the bride and groom’s chairs with a stunning garland that provided the perfect contrast of rustic chic beauty against vintage pieces. The table was set using a mix of antique elements with a hint of modern flair. Pop & Circumstance’s gorgeous crystal goblets were perfectly paired with clean, white plates on a vintage table. Her gold flatware complimented the other pieces and added a fresh element to the tablescape. In the spirit of highlighting the sense of community and local vendors, we chose to use The Everyday Napkin by Bash Studio.
These gorgeous, handmade dinner and cocktail napkins are made in small batches in Boston, Massachusetts. We decided to use neutral colored napkins to offset the deep tones of our vintage furniture. Already inspired by the beautiful merlot, cream, and yellow tones of our overall palette, Extras By Alaina decided to approach the calligraphy and paper good from the idea of autumn as naturally free-fallen, yet complete perfection. To achieve this, she incorporated contrasting rustically-lettered headings with flowing crisp calligraphy.
The colors included a bright metallic brass ink to pull in our antique décor, along with the creams and burgundy inherent in the rest of our décor. Because the shoot took place in a natural setting, we wanted to include organic elements, which were tied in through WanderLush’s amazing craft cocktails. We wanted our guests to not only see the beauty fall has to offer, but also taste it. The signature cocktails were meticulously designed with a farm-to-glass mentality. The organic fruits and ingredients mixed by WanderLush did not disappoint- guests sipped on balsamic fig fizzes and vanilla drops.
To bring our vintage shoot some more modern edge, we decided to highlight the up and coming trend of punches by serving WanderLush’s maple bourbon cocktail in an antique punch bowl surrounded by a beautiful green garland from Sweet Annie Floral Design. This simple, yet gorgeous set-up of made such a statement against the beautiful orchard backdrop.
When it came time to think of our dessert display, we opted out of a traditional wedding cake and decided to go with the sweet treat associated with New England orchards, a homemade doughnut. Dunlovely Events and Design transformed an original Singer sewing machine into a beautiful doughnut bar using various vintage pieces from Pop & Circumstance. And let’s not forget about the best part of this bar display, the Blackbird Doughnuts. Not only were these doughnuts gorgeous to look at, their unique, delicious, flavors, such as coffee and bacon and black raspberry white chocolate, made it impossible to take just one! All of the stunning images from this gorgeous fall day were captured using film by the talented Ruth Eileen Photography.
